Homecoming
The Marching Maroons performed during the Homecoming parade and at the Homecoming football game on Friday, October 5. Check out photos from their performances on our Facebook page (facebook.com/maroonbands).
No home game September 14
The September 14 game against Urbana H.S. has been rescheduled, so the marching band will NOT perform that Friday night. Instead the band will hold practice during their class period and on the practice field at the usual time. The first marching competition of the season is coming up: Saturday, September 8, at Washington H.S. Go Maroons!
Busy weekend ahead
Our first home football game will be on Friday night (8/24). Call time for all students is 6pm in the Centennial cafeteria. On Saturday (8/25) the marching band will meet at the practice field at noon for day camp and then perform at the Sweetcorn Festival in downtown Urbana. Come out and enjoy their performance at 5:15 at the Sweetcorn Festival.
2018 Marching Maroons
All students who wish to participate in the Marching Maroons in the fall 2018 semester need to sign the required 2018 Marching Band contract and pay a non-refundable minimum deposit of $50 by June 1. More information, including the marching band calendar, is included in the contract.
Disney Parade
Tune in to banddirector.com at 9:30 a.m. Thanksgiving morning to watch the Marching Maroons at the Parade of Bands at Disney World.
EIU Marching Band Competition
The marching band competition at Eastern Illinois University is this Saturday, September 30. Rehearsal at Centennial from 2:40-2:10, then load the buses and depart Champaign at 5:00, arriving in Charleston at 6:00. Students will eat dinner or a snack and watch bands, then get ready and warm up on the field at 7:00. The Marching Maroons perform at 7:45. Awards are at 8:45, then students will load the trailers and buses and depart at 9:15, arriving at Centennial at 10:15. Go Maroons!
Danville Marching Band Competition
The Danville competition is this Saturday (9/23). Students will rehearse at Centennial from 2:25-3:55. Buses depart at 4:40, with students arriving at Danville HS at 5:25. Students will eat dinner and watch bands from 5:30-6:30, then get ready and warm up at 7:00. The Marching Maroons perform at 7:45. Awards will be presented at 8:30, and students will return to Centennial at 9:45. Go Maroons!
Washington marching band competition
The Marching Maroons should report to the Centennial practice field at 1:00 Saturday, September 9, for rehearsal before leaving for the competition at Washington Community HS. Students will depart Champaign at 3:30, arrive in Washington at 5:00, eat dinner and warm up, perform at 8:12, and return to Champaign around 11:30. Students need to bring money for concessions (or a sack dinner), instruments, full uniform, and wear their show shirt and athletic shorts. Hats, sunscreen, and water bottle may be needed for rehearsal. Ticket prices for the Washington competition are $7/adults and $5/seniors, kids, students not in the band.
Sweetcorn Festival
The Marching Maroons will have day camp from 11:50-4:10 Saturday, August 26, followed by a 5:00 performance at the Sweetcorn Festival in Urbana. Students will return to Centennial HS at approximately 6:50.
