Marching Band

The Marching Maroons is Central’s 180-member volunteer marching band. This musical showcase includes students from all three concert bands as well as students from the general school population. The marching band practices during the school day in the fall semester with students receiving credit for physical education. The Marching Maroons have a history of successful placements at various field show competitions throughout the state. The students have also traveled extensively throughout the United States, including parades in Orlando, Atlanta, and New York City. The 2013 season was capped by a performance at the ABC Dunkin’ Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia.

Planned absence form - Students need to complete this form for absences from planned rehearsals or performances. Planned absences should be reported at least two weeks in advance.

2017 Disney World Trip - The Champaign Central Marching Band and Choir will be participating in the Thanksgiving Parade of Bands and Candlelight Processional in Orlando, Florida, this Thanksgiving.


2019-2020 dates & Marching Band contract

The dates for the 2019-2020 Central Music calendar are now available. Marching Band contracts should be returned by May 31. More information

No home game September 14

The September 14 game against Urbana H.S. has been rescheduled, so the marching band will NOT perform that Friday night. Instead the band will hold practice during their class period and on the practice field at the usual time. Busy weekend ahead

Our first home football game will be on Friday night (8/24). Call time for all students is 6pm in the Centennial cafeteria. 2018 Marching Maroons

All students who wish to participate in the Marching Maroons in the fall 2018 semester need to sign the required 2018 Marching Band contract and pay a non-refundable minimum deposit of $50 by June 1. More information, including the marching band calendar, is included in the contract.

EIU Marching Band Competition

Sweetcorn Festival

The Marching Maroons will have day camp from 11:50-4:10 Saturday, August 26, followed by a 5:00 performance at the Sweetcorn Festival in Urbana. Students will return to Centennial HS at approximately 6:50.
